Recruitment: This position is open to all qualified applicants.

Annual Salary Range:  $54,177.00                   Pay Grade: 17

Responsibilities:  Provide healthcare services typically performed by a physician, under the supervision of a physician conduct complete physicals, provide treatment, and counsel clients May, in some cases, prescribe medication.

1. Administers or orders diagnostic tests, such as x-ray, electrocardiogram, and laboratory tests
2. Develops comprehensive plans of care
3. Examines clients to obtain information about their physical condition
4. Instructs and counsels clients about prescribed therapeutic regimens, normal growth and development, family planning, emotional problems of daily living, and health maintenance
5. Interprets diagnostic test results for deviations from normal
6. Makes tentative diagnoses and decisions about management and treatment of clients
7. Obtains compiles and records client medical data, including health history, progress notes and results of physical examination
8. Performs therapeutic procedures, such as injections, immunizations, suturing and wound care, and infection management
9. Prescribes therapy or medication with physician approval
10. Visits and observes clients on hospital rounds or house calls, updating charts, ordering therapy, and reporting back to physician

Minimum Experience:   A current license to practice as a registered professional nurse AND completion of a masters degree from an accredited college or university in the respective nursing specialty AND authorization of the Georgia Board of Nursing for the specialty area OR Eligibility to obtain certification to practice as a physician assistant through approval by the Composite State Board of Medical Examiners
